This past week,
Moravian
Academy
received two generous donations from local businesses through the
EITC PA Tax Credit Program. The Educational Improvement Tax
Credit Program in
Pennsylvania
encourages private businesses to contribute to eligible schools in
exchange for substantial tax credits. Donations made through this
program are used for financial aid. In 2007-2008, twenty-one
businesses donated to
Moravian
Academy
in this way, contributing more than $190,000.
Selective Insurance Company and Hampson Mowrer Kreitz Insurance
Agency, through the Bravo Foundation, identified
Moravian
Academy
as a gift recipient and a presentation was made at the
Quakertown
Christian
Academy
. Several other schools were also identified and checks were
presented on October 2nd. Lehigh Fuels presented a check to
Director of Development Bob Zaiser on October 8. This is the
second consecutive year that Lehigh Fuels has donated to
Moravian
Academy
.
All of the students, faculty and staff appreciated the generosity
of these businesses and are pleased that this statewide program is
in place to help the students of
Pennsylvania
.
